Bayhill Premier Cup Tournament fixtures finalised for kick off

Thirty-two under-19
football clubs will take to Erica Park sportsfield in Belhar over the Easter
Weekend, in a bid to win the coveted prize of being this year’s tournament
champion. Due to its increased popularity, the final game has been moved to
Athlone Stadium, which can accommodate thousands more spectators.
The prestigious Bayhill launch, held last night at the City's Banqueting Hall, confirmed the official game schedule for the tournament determined through a draw.
The following teams will compete in knockout rounds leading up to the finals:

Of the 32 participating teams, two are from Namibia, 13 have travelled from other provinces and 17 are local teams.
This will be the 34th instalment of Bayhill, which has been held at Erica Park for more than two decades.
The need to find a bigger space for the finals is proof of how the tournament has grown over time.
The appointment of the new Tournament Director Mr Rayaan Allie, also indicates that the necessary steps have been put in place for succession planning, which positions Bayhill favourably as a key role player in local community football for the future.
The City's Recreation and Parks Department is a proud sponsor of the tournament and has allocated R662 100 this year.
The sponsorship includes the sports field venue, perimeter fencing, traffic control and law enforcement, event permitting support as well as guidance on the launch event logistics, health and safety measures to put in place as well as advertising and branding.

It changes one's mind set to be part of a team, to commit to learning the rules of play and then spending hours practising in order to perform well on the field. Well-organised recreation can safeguard our youngsters, keeping them captivated in a very productive way. It also builds community when families come out in numbers together to show their support, which leaves players beaming with pride from the entire experience, regardless of which team eventually wins the final,' said Mayoral Committee Member for Community Services and Health, Councillor Patricia Van der Ross.
Erica Park Sports Field is the first Recreation and Parks facility to receive its SASREA grading certificate which enables the facility to host events in excess of 2 000 participants, in compliance with the Safety at Sports and Recreational Events Act.
Tickets for games at Erica Park will be sold at the gate, limited to approximately 3 800 maximum venue capacity.
Tickets for the final at Athlone Stadium will need to be pre-booked online as advertised by the Bayhill event organisers.
